Leaving?
07/31/08 @ 12:14:34 am, Categories: Announcements [B], 541 words   English (US)

I wrote this in response to an article about moving to another country….

I’ve considered leaving when my parents are gone, but then again, who knows. Living in a small Southern town, I view moving to an actual free country is no different than all the people from Florida and up north coming here. Slowly the “Thats not how we done it where I come thing” occurs and things change. The area changes, the taxes change and the government changes. Before long, it is exactly as it was where they came from, and the same problems are the same as where they came from.

Where will we go when everywhere looks alike? At some point we must fess up, muster down, and take control, not only of our government, but ourselves. I wonder sometimes, aside from military might, have we allowed ourselves to become a 3rd world country. We have in prisoners, health, live births, disease, obesity, rights, and so many more things. The signers of the Constitution, no longer in effect, saw what Central and World Banks were doing, and had been doing. Sadly, little remains of our protection, our hope, even worse, our children’s future, somewhere, we’ve allowed freedom to be taken away. Yet these days, many are “Amused” by the media. If Muse is to think, placing an “A” in front of a word is the opposite.

Do people know what happened to the brave men that signed the Constitution? Do people know they were businessmen, plantation owners, lawyers … men of means. They were hunted down, tortured, and died broke. They forged and signed this instrument of Freedom knowing they would be sacrificed along with their wealth, but future generations could be free. Freedom could not be bought, yet their price was high. All could have set back and enjoyed their life, but they didn’t. I fear that there are no more heroes like these men and women left here today. Today we get our heroes from sports players and movie stars, the likes of which we pray our children will not become people that behave like they do. We think freedom is selection of brand names of consumer goods. We seem to think something is due us from birth rite. We pride ourselves not on our accomplishments of good and decency, not our our sacrifices, but of past people who thought more of us than we of them. We honor our dead soldiers and presidents by sales at stores. We replace those great moments by sports and actually thinking we are a part of that victory or defeat. Our children live their life experiences through video games and TV shows, and these days, many adults. We think there is a difference between Republicans and Democrats. We even expect our politicians to lie.

No, one second thought, if we could not keep what was freely given here, why would I possibly want to influence a true free nation or people by exodusing to their country. It is said that people deserve the government they get, (Thomas Jefferson", I guess that is true. Knowing that, would moving to a free land, would not the government change, and with that, people? No, I think I want to fix this one.

I think this is funny that sugar horror stories come out just as Kellogg’s is about to replace sugar, and the dreaded high fructose corn syrup with an even worse monster, GM sugar. You’ll die to get it, or actually, after you have it.

While I don’t doubt the stats on sugar workers, I do question some of how this is placed, therefore, questioning the relevance of this. A cow costs us 5 barrels of oil to bring up from calf to slaughter? Maybe, but why?

When I was a kid in the 60s, we held our noses as cow manure was spread over the fields for fertilizer to grow grass, hay, and other crops. Boy did we fuss, still, it was always expected. Now it did take fuel to run the tractors to spread it, tractors to cut, rake and bale the hay, and tractors to haul it to the barn. You can still add all those up these days and it still does take that, no change there, except for the tractors. It did not however take oil based fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to grow all this hay, grass, and crops. Now we done well to get an RC and a pack of crackers, maybe 1.00 an hour, and we worked like mules, but afterwards we ate. So did the rest of the world.

What is described in this article is all corporations, I do mean all. Let’s for argument’s sake focus on agriculture. Corporation agriculture, other than being unsustainable, does poorly. The average small family farm yields over 1300.00 per acre! Corporate farms about 37.00 per acre, quit a big difference. Monsanto’s and other big agri companies, through their Frankenstein foods have almost wiped out all species of food. Example: out of hundreds of varieties of potatoes, only about 4 are grown, most are all but extinct.

Nature has different types of plant for different soils, humidity, seasons, and areas. To think that we can force the same thing everywhere is suicide. Sound extreme? Look at your starving nations, even here in America, before all hell broke loose, 64% of all kids went to bed hungry. Farmers in India committed suicide due to indebtedness over failed crops, seed and plant abortions they were told were better than what nature had given them. In Latin America many crops especially corn, have been infected with these Frankenstein Foods, resulting in the loss of corn that grows well there.

You see, there is an event over the horizon so terrible, so tragic, so horrible, one can barely grasp it. Thanks to big agri business, many family farms are gone, those of us that are smaller, are slowly quitting. Many of these are sold off in tracts to those with dreams of self-sufficiency, problem is, farming is more work, more knowledge (horse sense), less paying that many are willing to do. Once they get there, it ain’t quite what they think, and they ain’t as good as they think. I am reminded of some people the other day that repeatedly said, “It wasn’t like this on TV", and “This isn’t the way they do it on TV". Guess what, TV is an Amusement Box, therefore, it to Muse is to think and placing (A) in front of a word means the opposite, what does that mean? You Muse it out for yourself. By the time the “Little House on the Prairie” scene is over, and they move back to the burbs or city, it’s pointless, the land has been broken up, and nobody can afford to buy the land, clean it off, and farm it, except big agri. We raise beef cattle to sell, and should we stop, and we are considering it, I personally will not be using the land and killing it with chemicals and I will not be selling the land. It will harbor what we use for ourselves and couple of family of kin, just a few cows.

So what is that terrible event coming? When small farmers and part-time farmers get tired of this crap. As for us, we will eat, and eat well. As for the general public, not! You will be eating Franken food grown oil, but that’s ok, either from disease or starvation, maybe it will be short. We keep seeing these astronomical numbers of how many people will be here. Personally, I’m not a big people person, but here is the truth. Children living today will not live as long as their parents. Everybody living today will not live as healthy of a life as just a few decades ago. Not fat ass unhealthy, we’re taking disease unhealthy. The term, “You are what you eat” may not be that far off, especially considering human DNA being spliced into rice DNA. Ever wonder what pissed China off? Those with enough sense to be able to grow their own garden, will still not be able to produce enough to 100% be independent, we can’t even do that. Then, as the market is primarily owned by a few, the prices and output will as well. It is funny how submissive hungry people are.

I have been a part of a Union most of my life, as were 2 generation before me, so I am all about worker’s rights, more so than the unions of today are, be we have to get real. And if our government passes a law against slavery, does that mean that all current US laws committed there, will be enforced and punished here? I seriously doubt that happening. Do you really want any corporation growing your food, those who work for corporations, think about it. Do you really want US government to get involved in your food. Before you answer those two, I challenge you to muse what a great record both have, financial, peace, compassion, fairness, housing, out sourcing … just to name a few. When the real farmers cease, and they are the people that care about the land and care about the animals are gone, will you be better off, or will you be sick and hungry?

Now maybe I picked up wrong on what the sugar slavery article was about, but then again, it sure did look suspicious.

Global Warming - Carbon Footprint - CFL

I’m starting with the light bulb. Can one really reduce your harm to the environment by switching from incandescent light bulbs to the new, florescent bulbs? Cutting back on some things is good, like wattage, while cutting back on other things are bad, like filaments. If we were really concerned for the environment, why would we not improve on the current bulb? For that matter, make the old ones again. I saw a bulb that had lasted many years.

How many bulbs are going into the ground at your neighboring landfill? Sure, you threw them in a plastic bag and sealed it up, but it is still glass, and glass cuts plastic, not to mention pressure from all the other garbage and foreign matter thrown away, smashing the weight, and bursting the bag. These thin bags do not, repeat, do not stay sealed. Now, if you are living on this planet, and you are smart enough to see that the shorter bulbs last the more they sell. At first they said 10 years, now, yes we were stupid enough to buy them at first, ours lasts about 1-2 years. But remember, its just a small bulb with 5 milligrams of Mercury in them. Multiple the numbers of lights in your house, then count the hoses in your neighborhood. Now add the houses in your city. If you live in a small house, add a few bulbs. When you get the total, multiply that by 6,000 gallons, that is how much water is and will be contaminated! This is not figuring in land, fishes, etc. But what will that amount do?

5 milligrams of Mercury will contaminate 6,000 gallons of water.
So how does Mercury effect your body, for that matter, all in comes into contact with?

Mercury is associated with over 4,000 diseases now! Here is a few…….

· generalized morning stiffness

· joint pain

· rheumatoid arthritis

· mixed connective tissue disease

· skin rashes

· subcutaneous nodules (skin bumps)

· multiple sclerosis

· amyotropic lateral sclerosis

· neurological symptoms

· ringing in the ears

· burning and numbness sensations

· dry eyes and mouth

· immune dysfunction

· axillary lymph node swelling

· digestive disorders

· malnutrition

· leaky gut syndrome

· dysbiosis

· yeast and pathogenic bacteria infections

· chronic fatigue

· depression

· circulatory diseases

· atherosclerosis

. Crohn’s Disease

. Alzheimer’s Disease

. Heart Disease - Including High Blood Pressure

. Autoimmune Diseases

. Autism

. ALS

. Hair Loss

. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

. Diabetes

. Thyroid disease

. Parkinson’s disease

. Lupus

. Kidney disease

. Fibromyalgia

And the list goes on. These are not just suspected, but proven. But wait, that’s not all folks. Wikipedia says..

Mercury damages the central nervous system, endocrine system, kidneys, and other organs, and adversely affects the mouth, gums, and teeth. Exposure over long periods of time or heavy exposure to mercury vapor can result in brain damage and ultimately death. Mercury and its compounds are particularly toxic to fetuses and infants. Women who have been exposed to mercury in pregnancy have sometimes given birth to children with serious birth defects (see Minamata disease).

Mercury exposure in young children can have severe neurological consequences, preventing nerve sheaths from forming properly. Mercury inhibits the formation of myelin, the building block protein that forms these sheaths.[8]

There is some evidence that mercury poisoning may predispose to Young’s syndrome (men with bronchiectasis and low sperm count).[9]

The BBC reports : “

A debilitating illness of the nervous system caused by mercury poisoning has re-emerged, scientists have warned.
Minamata disease causes serious damage to the nervous system, resulting in uncontrollable shaking and muscle wasting.

It also produces appalling deformities in the children of sufferers. “

Now these little Light Bulbs aren’t the only sources, but why add another. Here is a few more places to get your poison:

Vaccines
Volcanic Eruptions
Dental Fillings
Coal Burning - Coal Plants
Fish
Chlorine
Chemical Manufacturing
Light Switches
Teeth Whitening
Latex Paint (made after 1990)
Pesticides & Fungicides
Now here is another little bit of information. The only world that produces these little poison bombs is, yep, you guessed it, China. Lets just add that to the other fine gifts they have contributed to the world lately.

But are we to hate China? Is China solely to blame? No. While the country has definitely prospered from these bulbs, perhaps corporations are the most to blame, along with hired Spin Doctors. At the heart of the problem, lazy, ignorant people that go off half cocked. I include myself on that one, I bought them too. Of course, our very own government gets some credit as well. Again, people get the government they deserve. It and our health agencies usually go to the highest bidders.

Now the Green Movement wants you to reduce your Carbon Footprint. Does it actually reduce it, or just change sources? If we are the sole cause of Global Warming, and placing these bulbs are suppose to make a difference, will we be here, and it so, will we know we’re here, and if so, will we be able to enjoy or for that matter even wipe our own butt. No.

I’m not saying there isn’t Global Warming, I believe there is, it is just that we are not the sole cause of it. God knows we’ve done our damage. Even if we were, does destroying all human life and other life justify this ignorant, half hearted effort? I saw last year, what appeared to be a new word discovered, “Paradigm", of course usually it follows the word New. We are in a New Paradigm. Are we now? From my perspective, we are in the same paradigm (for those who like this word), it is just different greedy people leading half informed people to the slaughter, or suicide in realty.

Another word too misused these days is “Peak". We are not at the peak of anything, because at the peak, we can turn around and go the other way. We can’t. Doing nothing certainly will not help, but doing the wrong thing is just compounding the problem (S). Peak Credit, Peak Oil, Peak Pollution. Here is one, how about Peak Greed, Peak Ignorance, Peak Corruption. We are staring into the Abyss, and we have earned it.

So now we are at the crossroads, with nowhere to turn. Watching TV will not cut it, amusing ourselves will not cut it anymore. Problems do not go away, and this is reality, not a reality faked show. Keeping our heads in the and, or lately up our butts will no longer stand, as we stare into the Abyss. Those breathing today will have to account, but that is not the test, the real test will comes now. Do we care about those not born here, those we will not meet here, our descendants. I hope so, for if not, we have earned ourselves a spot, a very bad spot.

We must search out better ways. Electric cars? Now there is another dead end, they use electricity. Remember coal? Solar power? Not until the greedy get out of the way. The same material is also used for many other purposes, only the product is cheap. So why is solar so high. Then there is Nuclear energy. Clean? I thought these bulbs were too. Ever heard of Chernobyl? Now that makes me sleep better, how about you?

Your Carbon Footprint will definitely be much, much less using some of the half cocked, wrong schemes of today. If for no other reason, you will be dead. Then again, you will not be alone, so will all other carbon based life forms, thanks in part to laziness, in part to ignorance, and in part to greed.

Take Care,

Anthony

UT SPEECH DEPT CUT FOR FOOTBALL SKY BOXES

UT SPEECH DEPT CUT FOR FOOTBALL SKY BOXES
Today at 2:41am Ok, just how important is UT Football to Governor Breedsen and the state of Tennessee?

Answer -

More important that hearing impaired children and those losing their hearing!

More important than Stroke Victims learning to speak again.

More important that than teaching children with Cochlear Implants learning to use them and talk.

Our youngest daughter Megan is and was a benefactor from this. If had it not been for UT Speech & Audiology Dept and their staff, Meagn would not have been able to speak properly, maybe not at all.

Megan would not have had adequate representation at local schools, after all, anybody with a child with a handicapp knows the schools here do not do what they are suppose to do.

Many children and older people would have never recieved the help they so deserve, and could not afford hearing aides, they refer people to places that wholesale.

Instead, Tennessee said that people could travel to Vanderbilt or Memphis! I guess setting on a rich fat ass watching football is more important.

Now exactly where is that promised Lottery Tickets money funding money? I guess that we all have priorities, apparently football is number one! Better still, getting the rich seats shows that you are on top, even if it is on the backs, and at the expense of children and the elderly. It helps expecially if they can’t speak up.

I ask you now to email these evil people. Boycott UT. DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY. Remember Breedsen and all the names associated with this tragedy, this fleecing of the people who can not speak for themselves!

Below is an email:

Good evening to all,

I know I may not have spoken to some of you if a while but I am in need of a favor.

If you have known a child with a speech impediment that attended speech class or have had a loved one that had stroke and had to learn how to communicate again or have known someone with a cochlear implant you understand the importance of Speech Pathologists and Audiologists. There is a high demand for these specialized professionals and institutions of high education cannot keep up with the demand. But just this week the University of Tennessee system has decided to end the Speech Pathology and Audiology programs at all of its universities state wide due to budget cutbacks. This is a mistake and we believe that board doesn’t fully understand the ramifications of their actions so we want to fight their decision.

All I ask is that you read the message below and send an email to addresses provided. Share a personal story how one of these professionals has affected your life or the life of someone you know or just share your thoughts/opinions that the closing of this program is a bad idea. Please pass this note along and encourage anyone you can to help us in the effort to save the program. Thank you for your help in this fight.

Jeff Cuellar

To anyone kind enough to read this email:

Hello, my name is Megan Cuellar. I am the daughter of Sally Davenport and Dale Morris, and I am the wife of Jeff Cuellar. If you are reading this email, you are in some way connected to myself or to the people that I love. I am writing to ask for your help, something that I do not do very well. I am in an enormously important fight. I’m fighting for the right to learn, and to teach others to help people. I am currently a speech language pathologist at The Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. I am also a recently accepted PhD student to the University of Tennessee in the Audiology and Speech Pathology program. I’ve received news from the faculty at UT, that our program has been deemed unnecessary to the UT college of Arts and Sciences. As a result, UT, more specifically, the dean of Arts and Sciences and the president of the university, have proposed to cut our program. We have 10 days to surmount an appeal to the governor and the Tennessee Board of Regents, who are the only people standing in the way of our program’s eminent termination. After attending an informational meeting tonight, I have been informed that we plan to fight this. The governor’s office has stated that he has never received such an immediate and resounding response to contest this kind of proposal. This gives us hope, but we need more community feedback. The members of the Tennessee Board of Regents are actually reading the correspondence that they have received regarding this issue. Thus, we are not sending petitions or form letters. So, please, send an email to say that it is not right to close the University of Tennessee Audiology and Speech Pathology program. If you have personal experience related to the importance of our professions then please include your stories. If not, then please send one sentence, state who you are, and tell them that you, as a tax payer in the state of Tennessee, do not agree with this proposal.

Please do this for the students of the University of Tennessee Audiology and Speech Language Pathology program. Please do this for the future students of this program. Do this for the newborn babies that receive hearing screenings from UT. Do this for the children, birth to three years old, that receive speech and language services from UT students and faculty. Do this for the children with autism that receive services from UT. Do this for the hearing impaired individuals that receive the gift of hearing from UT students and staff. Do this for the kids in school, that receive help from the speech pathologists who have graduated from UT. Do this for the victims of trauma, traumatic brain injured individuals, that learn to speak, remember, problem solve, breathe on their own without trachs by working with students and speech therapists that have graduated from UT. Do this for the patients in hospitals that learn to speak, and swallow liquid and food after a stroke by working with speech therapists from UT. Do this for our senior citizens patients with Alzheimer’s that receive help to remember themselves, their family members, and their lives from the speech pathologists that graduate from UT. Do this for your children, your parents, your siblings, your grandparents, your friends that have, or may at some point, need services from audologists and speech pathologists. Please help us.

Emails should be sent to the following addresses:

1. Governor
phil.bredesen@state.tn.us

2. Adams, Bob, Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance
Bob.Adams@tbr.edu
3. Jan Simek, Interim Chancellor
jansimek@utk.edu
4. Dr. Bruce E Bursten, Dean of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tennessee
bbursten@utk.edu
5. Dr. John D. Peterson, Office of President of UT
john.peterson@tennessee.edu

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely and with much appreciation,

Megan E. Cuellar

I love this. I blame. Who’s at fault? What to do?
This was in part what I posted on a topic.

“Close, but that only counts in horseshoes and handgrenedes. Who is at blame? We need only to look into the mirror. We have allowed this to happen. So let’s look at it from a realistic, non drugged view.

1 - Electric power.
A - More polution caused by electricity, ie coal burning.
B - Solar is not very stable and why does the same material cost a fraction of the cost when not used in solar.
C- Wind power. Great, if you are where there is a lot of wind, and have a lot of land.

2 - Mass Transit.
A - Works well in bigger cities. Not very practical in rural settings. Vehicles are not an option in the country, unless of course you want to ride a horse or bicycle and make a day of a store trip.

3 - Alternative Energy.
A - While most were sleeping, there have been massive advances made … and killed.
1- The man who won the search for zero energy was found dead last year at an airport from heart attack in his car.
2- Another man finally has gotten out of prison, back home he displays what got him there. His zero energy (actually positive) can been seen at his display at home.
3- Joe Cell. No, it’s not a celebrity or sports player, and yes, it is real. Problem is, the 4 men who perfected Nasa’s old plans are all dead. There are people who are perfecting it, and those trying to perfect it once again, but they remain silent.

4 - Move into the country and be self-sufficient.
A- Moving out and buying a few acres simply destroys farms, farms that are in trouble. This decreases family farm land and will increase corporate farmsland. “A 1,000 acre U.S. corporate farm growing genetically engineered crops nets an average of $39 an acre.
• In contrast, a four-acre family farm nets, on average, $1,400 per acre.
• Small organic farms are proving to be even more profitable. With oil prices on the rise, growing food without petroleum-based pesticides/fertilizers, and delivering that food to local markets will quickly prove to be the most affordable food available.”
B- Growing enough food to sustain yourself is another delusion. Those of us that can farm can’t even do that. Plant food instead of fowers. Buy the rest from local farmers, we won’t even go into the health issues. Not to mention, unless you are able to produce fertilizer, it’s petro chemical.

5- Wake up.
A - If you think Clinton was the father of Nafta, turn off you’re TV. Clinton, Gore, Bush, Obama, McCain and the rest have you snowed if you think they are in opposition.
B- Peak. Now there’s a word, like Paradigm, Sheeple take to it like a duck to water. Suggested watching, “The Story of Stuff” … Google it.
C- China and India are adding millions of vehicles each year, with more millions to come. We are in a competition for oil, and since Fractional Reserve Banking has dropped a dollar to .02cents. Figure it out.
More, but”
